CHarlotte Chapman

Charlotte trained in 3D Design at Ravensbourne College and went on to complete a PGCE in Design Education at Goldsmiths College. From there she became a secondary school teacher in Design & Technology working in South East London. In 2003 she went to New Zealand to lead the Design Department at Auckland Girls Grammar School.

Having returned to the UK in 2007 she moved to Bristol and became a freelance creative facilitator, working with local communities. In 2014 she joined Creative Youth Network as their Creative Learning Manager.

In 2016 Charlotte started lecturing in Creative & Therapeutic Arts at the University of South Wales.

Wanting to return to Kent to be closer to family in 2018 Charlotte started Community Art Kent and worked part time as Participation Manager for Canterbury Festival. In 2021 she became the South East Development Officer for Creative Lives.

Her freelance practice as a creative producer is rooted in participatory approaches and community engagement. She has worked for Touchbase Care, Living Words, Kent Downs, English Heritage, Kent Refugee Action Network, Dover Arts Development, Creative Folkestone, CT20, Catching Lives & Sunflower House.
